I write about art, culture, food, Iowa, LGBTQ issues, politics, and how those things intersect. I’ve contributed to magazines and written for various branded publications including PAPER, VICE, Barneys, Food52, them., Grindr, Hello Mr., and more. I’m currently working on a book.
I most recently worked as Chief Marketing Officer at Stack Overflow, where I ran marketing and communications for the leading software company and massive developer community. Before Stack, I was a vice president at GLG. I started my career in communications at Teach For America and spent three years as a senior director at Group SJR, a digital marketing agency within WPP, where I led a diverse portfolio of accounts including General Electric, Goldman Sachs, TED, and Xerox.
Originally from Dubuque, Iowa, I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor's degree in creative writing and political science. I live in Brooklyn.
